The scheme involved the complete removal of all internal walls and floors in order to establish a cohesive layout with a new central staircase.  This allowed the character of the existing fabric to be retained and allow the client’s own cultural heritage to assert itself.  The new ground floor extension with its extensive glazing to the garden allowed a modern open plan living space to be added to the layout.  The retention of an existing mature Wisteria is a key feature of the extension.
